Installation & Surface Preparation

• Thoroughly clean the bonding surface with a 50:50 isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and water mixture using a clean, lint-free wipe. Ensure the surface is completely dry and free from wax, polish, oil, and dust.
• For low surface energy (LSE) automotive plastics like PP, EPDM, or TPO, applying 3M Adhesion Promoter (such as 3M 4298UV or Primer 94) will significantly increase bond strength.
• Apply firm, uniform pressure using a roller (recommended 15–20 psi) to ensure complete adhesive wet-out.
• Optimal application temperature is between 21°C and 38°C (70°F to 100°F). Bond strength reaches handling strength immediately, ~90% strength after 24 hours, and 100% full strength at 72 hours.
