3M™ VHB™ Tape 5952 is a heavy-duty, 1.1 mm (45 mil) thick double-sided black acrylic foam tape with a modified acrylic adhesive on both sides. Formulated with a very conformable closed-cell viscoelastic foam core, 3M 5952 provides permanent, high-strength structural bonding across the widest variety of substrates—including powder-coated paints, plastics, metals, glass, and lightly textured surfaces—effectively replacing screws, rivets, welds, and messy liquid adhesives.

Application Guidelines

• Clean bonding surfaces thoroughly with a 50:50 isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and water mixture; wipe dry with a clean, lint-free cloth.
• Apply firm pressure using a hand roller or squeegee (minimum 15–20 psi) to activate adhesive wet-out.
• Initial handling strength is immediate (~50%), building to ~90% strength after 24 hours, and reaching 100% full bond strength within 72 hours at room temperature.
