3M™ 5608A VHB™ Automotive Double-Sided Acrylic Foam Tape (0.8mm / 31 mil Thick, 33m Roll) is an OEM-specified medium-density gray acrylic foam tape designed for high-performance automotive exterior and interior trim attachment. Engineered with high-tack acrylic adhesives on both sides of a conformable 0.8mm viscoelastic foam core, 5608A provides superior shear holding power, excellent plasticizer resistance, and stress relaxation under mechanical load and thermal cycling.

Application Instructions
- Surfaces must be thoroughly degreased and cleaned with a 50:50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and water, then dried completely with a lint-free cloth.
- Apply the tape to the initial surface and roll down firmly with a weighted hand roller (minimum 15 psi) to ensure 100% surface wet-out.
- Remove the red release liner, align the mating trim part carefully, and apply uniform firm pressure for 30 seconds.
- Bond strength progression: ~50% bond strength reached after 20 minutes, ~90% after 24 hours, and 100% full structural bond strength reached after 72 hours at room temperature.
